White Angel - Behind The Scenes Photography

Hi photography lovers, this is my 4th posting.

This time I’m going to share how to make the picture below, which called ‘White Angel’

The model here is Vivi, one of my favorite models.

Ok, here is the flash light setting that I used for this session.

Three cheap flash lighting completed with 2 softbox located on the right and left the model, and one flash lighting with photoflex umbrella in front of the model.
The camera that I use is Nikon D70s with Nikon 18-70mm lens.
Trust me, by using inexpensive equipments, we can also make a good picture.

By using the flash lighting setting above, I get the picture as seen below.

Because I take picture with RAW format, I’ll do adjustments first, by using Adobe Camera Raw 4.0 on Adobe Photoshop CS3.

The picture below is the result from adjustments on Adobe Camera Raw 4.0

The red label part is the part that I change, such as temperature, hue, exposure, saturation, etc.
With simple adjustments, we can see the differences.

After doing adjustments on Adobe Camera Raw, I do a little tone change. Here I use hue/saturation menu and choose red and yellow channel that I change to make the skin tone become pale.

The result is the picture on the left below.

The next step is burning and dodging. My main interests are on the model’s hair and skin.

The result from burning and dodging is the picture on the right.

Thats it! And this is the result :)

May this article useful for you!
